QOTD: I want to use a picture from my phone in the design, but it’s blurry. Why?
Answer: When using personal photos or professional photos, they must be high resolution in order for them to print correctly. If the image is showing up blurry, it’s a low resolution image (72 dpi) and is only set to be viewed properly on a screen or really small when printed. High resolution images are 300 dpi or higher. If you’re going to use a photograph from your phone, take the picture on the highest resolution setting that your phone will allow in order to get the clearest photo. ESPECIALLY if you’re going to use the image on a banner or poster. Most photographers will release the high resolution images when you get your pictures, but if you’re not sure, just ask your designer (me) to check it.
